NaNoWriMo
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and it is an international, online writing challenge that occurs every year during the month of November. The objective is to write at least 50,000 words in an original novel in just the 30 days (November 1st to 30th).

NaNo Accomplishments

NaNo 2005
I first participated in NaNoWriMo in 2005. I was grumbling in my personal blog about how I have tons of story ideas but have yet to finish an actual novel. A very dear friend of mine (Heather) brought NaNoWriMo to my attention, and though I did not make the goal of 50k, I did have a lot of fun. My 2005 NaNovel was Sharron: Dragon Mother.

NaNo 2006
In 2006, I was determined to win, and I convinced my sister to also participate. We had a friendly competition going on who would reach 50k first, and by the end of the month, we both had won. My 2006 NaNovel was Healer's Quest, and it was the first novel/story I ever wrote that I actually felt might be publish-worthy one day.

NaNo 2007
In 2007, I was determined to finish Healer's Quest, so I dubbed my project the 'sequel' and picked up where I had left off the year before. Again, through sheer determination and a love for my story, I somehow managed to reach the goal of 50k.

NaNo 2008
In 2008, my nanovel was The Tale of Martindale, a prequel to Healer's Quest featuring one of the main characters, the heroic knight Sir Martindale. Only this tale is about his journey from the second son of a Valorian noble, through his years at the Royal Institute of Medicine, how he came to be knighted in the order of the King's Elite, and the events leading up to Healer's Quest.
